The Chamber's Government Affairs Committee works to create and sustain a favorable business environment in which all businesses can grow and prosper through the monitoring of legislation and influencing of governmental decisions on behalf of the interests of our members. This committee provides a basis for the Chamber to act on local, state, and federal governmental issues and evaluate political candidates.

Our guest speaker is... Escondido City Council Member Joe Garcia.
JOE GARCIA – DEPUTY MAYOR
Represents District 2
Councilmember Joe Garcia was elected to the Escondido City Council in 2020. In 2022, Joe was re-elected to the City Council representing District 2. He has been a Pastor for over three decades and an Escondido Police Department Chaplain for over 15 years. Joe has also served on the Community Services Commission and the Planning Commission. Councilmember Garcia has been the voice of the community and a proven problem solver. He believes that government should be responsive to the community’s needs and available to listen, learn and lead for change. Joe is honored to serve Escondido and looks forward to help create partnerships that will benefit Escondido greatly. Escondido has a bright future.
