The Chamber's Government Affairs Committee works to create and sustain a favorable business environment in which all businesses can grow and prosper through the monitoring of legislation and influencing of governmental decisions on behalf of the interests of our members. This committee provides a basis for the Chamber to act on local, state, and federal governmental issues and evaluate political candidates.

Our guest speaker is... Chairman Steve Stallings with the Rincon Band of the Luiseño Indians
Steve Stallings is Chairman of the Rincon Band of Luiseño Indians, a federally recognized sovereign Tribal government in Southern California. Elected Chairman in 2025 after serving ten years on the Tribal Council, he is dedicated to strengthening Tribal sovereignty, expanding economic opportunity, preserving Luiseño culture, and building meaningful partnerships that benefit both Tribal citizens and the broader community.
Chairman Stallings brings more than 40 years of experience in Tribal economic development, finance, and government relations. His career includes leadership roles as Senior Vice President and Director of Native American Banking Services at Wells Fargo, where he worked with Tribal governments nationwide, and as President of the National Center for American Indian Enterprise Development. He also served as Chairman of the California Nations Indian Gaming Association (CNIGA), advocating for Tribal self-determination and sustainable economic growth.
Under his leadership, the Rincon Tribe continues to invest in initiatives that create jobs, strengthen the regional economy, support public safety, and improve quality of life for Tribal citizens and neighboring communities. Chairman Stallings is committed to demonstrating how Tribal economic success creates lasting benefits far beyond reservation boundaries.
